Getting around Blaenavon
Information about the location of various sites and attractions in the Blaenavon World Heritage Site can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre, based within the World Heritage Centre. Alternatively a map outlining key attractions and car parking facilities| is available to download here.
Directions to the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre / Tourist Information Centre
Follow the “i” road sign to Princes Street car park and then follow the pedestrian signs along Church Road to the centre. There is a small car park opposite the centre for coaches to drop off visitors and for disabled visitors to leave their cars.

These car parks are signed from the main routes into Blaenavon. At each of these car parks you will find pedestrian signs to guide you to the wide range of attractions and facilities in the town.

Visitors can explore all of the attractions of the town by foot – so park your car and explore!
Bus Services
A bus service links the town with Big Pit National Mining Museum – Bus No. 30 Brynmawr. However, this only runs approximately every 2 hours – Traveline| can provide more information.

Public Conveniences
There are public toilets at Lion Street, next to the HSBC Bank
Additionally there are toilets at Big Pit, the Ironworks, the Library, the Cordell Museum and the World Heritage Centre.
Banks and Automated Teller Machines
The HSBC Bank is situated on the junction between Broad Street and Lion Street, a cash-point is available outside.
Libraries and Public Internet Access
Blaenavon Library is located in Lion Street. It is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The facility offers free public internet access.
If you have a wireless enabled laptop, you may also use the free Wi-Fi service at the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre.
