Come and join the lantern parade through Blaenavon Town Centre and a fantastic fire finale at Blaenavon Ironworks.

Road closures will be in place between the hours of 6:00pm - 8:00pm on the road section between the junction of the B4248 (Garn Road) with the B4246 (Abergavenny Road) and the junction of North Street with the Estate Road. Rolling road closures will be in operation on roads off Broad Street and King Street as the parade moves through the town centre.
Car parking is available in all town centre car parks. However, the lower level of Market Street car park will be closed all day on Thursday 14 December for parade preparations. Please ensure that all vehicles are removed by 9.00am. The car park will re-open at 7.00pm. Please note that the Ironworks car park will only be available to disabled parking

Blaenavon Lantern Making Workshops 2006
Sunday 19 November - Sunday 3 DecemberSWICA has always enjoyed creating a carnival atmosphere in Blaenavon, now together again we can make Blaenavon’s first Lantern Parade a great success. Following the success of their great Film Forge Project, Artists Ben and Jude lead the SWICA Lantern Team, so come along and get involved in some creative fun.
Special thanks go to David Eveleigh and his Department Of Enjoyment stalwarts - including Jason Price for his flaming Ghost Miner - providing a spectacular blazing Fire Finale!

Lantern parade and fire finale
Thursday 14 december

The lantern parade will start at 6:00pm from Market Street Car Park and will proceed up Broad Street, King Street and North Street and into the Ironworks where the Fire Finale will commence at approximately 7:00pm.
The public are encouraged to follow the parade on foot through the town centre and into the Ironworks. As space is limited the parade and followers from the town centre will have priority entrance. Entry to the Ironworks is free. Please note that the gates to the Ironworks will be closed until the lantern parade and followers have entered the site.
